We’ve paddleboards for guest use, a wide range of bikes and electric bikes to hire and carefully planned local walks to enjoy to get the most out of your Norfolk break.

Our chef will also prepare a fresh and delicious packed lunch for you to take with you on your adventures!

Paddleboarding

Guests can hire our paddleboards to explore the tidal waters behind Scolt Head Island and the creeks and marshes of Brancaster Staithe and Burnham Overy Staithe.

Complete with buoyancy aids and waterproof phone pouches, our paddleboards come fully equipped for action.

Call us on 01485 210333 or email reservations@shiphotelnorfolk.co.uk to book a paddleboard to go with your accommodation – to check the appropriate tide conditions.

Guests will be asked to complete and sign a safety checklist and our terms and conditions before equipment is provided.

Bike Hire

Bike hire is available from our partners Open Sky Cycles, based nearby, who will deliver your choice of high quality gravel, hybrid or electric bike to you at The Ship Hotel, and collect it when you have finished your adventure.

Open Sky Cycles have put together a number of cycling routes on their web site.  You can download the GPX files or use the link to access the routes on Ride with GPS.  They also provide GPS units with pre-loaded routes and mobile phone mounts so you can follow the route on your phone.

*While we make reasonable efforts to ensure the security of your bikes, all property stored is left at your own risk. Management does not accept responsibility for property stolen or damaged.

Walking

As well as the Norfolk Coastal Path, there are lots of stunning coastal & inland walks, some of which offer superb views over the coast from the dizzying heights of up to 50 metres above the sea level. The remainder of the route follows the edge of the Brancaster Marsh on raised banks and boardwalks, with extensive views of the unique habitat and its wildlife. Most walks are accessible by public transport via the bus service.

Ask the team at the Ship for local walking routes and maps.

And don’t forget to ask for a packed lunch the evening before!
