Including the Norfolk Coast Path

As well as the Norfolk Coastal Path, there are lots of stunning coastal & inland walks, some of which offer superb views over the coast from the dizzying heights of up to 50 metres above the sea level. The remainder of the route follows the edge of the Brancaster Marsh on raised banks and boardwalks, with extensive views of the unique habitat and its wildlife. Most walks are accessible by public transport via the bus service.

Ask the team at the Ship for local walking routes and maps.

And don’t forget to ask for a packed lunch the evening before!

Norfolk Coast Path

Looking for a Norfolk Coast Path Hotel as a base from which to enjoy part of the 84 mile long route?

The Ship at Brancaster is a good place to stop en-route from Hunstanton in the west, past Brancaster and the Ship Hotel, to Hopton-on-Sea in the south east.

The Norfolk Coast Path covers some stunning areas along Norfolk’s coastline, running through the dramatic landscape of the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, taking in salt marshes, stunning beaches, cliffs and a fantastic array of bird and wildlife.

The Ship is an ideal watering hole or overnight stop for anyone passing Brancaster and looking for a Norfolk Coast Path hotel, and is also a great base from which to explore local sections of the path. Our resident Land Rover Defender is often available to drop or collect guests from the local stretches of the path so you don’t have to make your walk a circular one. We are also on the local Hoppa Bus services’ Coastliner route.
